The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport is a worldwide organisation with an established International pedigree. With over 30,000 members in 28 national sections the CILT spans the globe. Established in 1919, and granted a 'Royal Charter' in 1926, it has always been an international organisation From its inception the role of the CILT has been a simple one, ‘Education’ in its broadest sense, to spread logistics and transport knowledge, and to be a source of authoritative views for communication to governments, industry and the community. All members are actively encouraged to progress through four membership categories through a commitment to continuing professional development and lifelong learning.
