Proteus Software was established in 1987 as a business application software provider. Since its inception Proteus has consistently developed software applications to control supply chain business processes.
The management team, having over 30 years experience of the complexities of inventory management, made a strategic decision to develop a completely new suite of open systems-based applications for supply chain. Recognising that every organisation needs to differentiate its products and services to maintain their competitive edge, our software was designed to provide maximum flexibility coupled with powerful functionality.
Use of the latest design methodology from PROGRESS, a fourth generation language (4GL) and a powerful relational database, resulted in systems that are highly adaptive, resilient and scalable. Now into the eighth generation, significant ongoing investment has led to ongoing regular additions to the functionality of the systems and incorporation of the latest technologies.
The company has grown significantly since the early days and is now an established warehouse management system provider, with an ever expanding portfolio of product ranges.
In December 2014 Proteus was sold to Sanderson and is now part of the Sanderson Group.
Our software helps control over 5million sq ft of warehouse space across the UK, Ireland, South Africa and across Europe.
Proteus has maintained its recognition as an Investor in People for over 20 years; this investment has been reflected in the high standard of its software development programmes, which have undergone scrupulous audit by independent teams from blue chip organisations such as GlaxoSmithKline.
The achievements of its development teams have been acknowledged by such authorities as the British Computer Society and the Institute of Transport Management while several customers, who have founded their procedures on the Proteus software suite, have won awards from the UKWA and others.
