  Institute of Transport Administration

The Institute has a primary aim of supporting all its members in improving and broadening their knowledge, skills and experience in the practice of efficient transport management in all modes. of Transport Administration

Founded in 1944, the Institute is recognised throughout the transport industry as an association of highly professional transport managers and operators. The Institute welcomes members from all sectors of the industry who are engaged, to some extent, in the business of administering transport. In particular, the Institute offers the opportunity for membership to people who may not possess formal academic or professional qualifications, but nevertheless, are experienced in the skills of managing transport in all forms. of Transport Administration

We provide a forum for our members to broaden and improve their knowledge, skills and experience, enabling them to enhance their professional standing at all levels of management. We arrange activities, both educational and social, centrally through Headquarters and, locally, through strategically placed Centres.

We encourage members to participate in national events, such as Council meetings and Conference. We consider proposed legislation and offer reasoned opinion to government departments on matters affecting members, and promote training and education through approved recognised providers of such services.

The Institute has grown over the years and, in addition to several Centres throughout the UK, overseas membership is available and the Institute is particularly active in Hong Kong and West Africa.
