Proteus® in action at Oakland International Oakland International is a major third party logistics organisation with distribution, warehousing and stock-sorting facilities situated in Worcestershire and at Dunkirk, France. The UK site provides 600,000 sq ft of space, with specialist facilities built to the highest food-storage standards. The frozen storage facilities offer 5000 pallet spaces, all with a computerised stock location system. For chilled storage, there are 3000 pallet spaces of single-deck chillers, with eight docking stations, pallet-weighing facilities and a dedicated repacking facility, which is operated to BRC (British Retail Consortium) accreditation standards. The transportation solutions range from courier van to 44-foot articulated vehicles with next-day delivery services to all major multiple supermarkets including Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
